Sustainability and Fair-trade values have always been at the heart of what we do. Having acquired B corporation status during 2023, something we are immensely proud of, we are now legally obliged to consider the impact of our decisions on the environment as well as our customers, workers and community.

All of our fashion products use lining material made entirely from recycled plastic bottles and this season we're delighted to introduce a number of new ranges which use recycled outer fabrics including one made entirely from ocean plastic waste. Furthermore, all handbags, purses and accessories now arrive in entirely biodegradable, compostable, recyclable and marine friendly Eco Garment Bags. An innovative packaging solution made from Hydropol TM, which biodegrades entirely after use. We have also been supporting a number of Environmental initiatives in conjunction with GetGreenspark, all with the aim of reducing our carbon footprint.

Together with our textile designers and producers we have been working towards increasing the recycled content of our tweed fabrics, investing in the use of recycled yarns for all our in house tweeds.

Made from innovative machine knitted fabric which is produced entirely from ocean plastic waste. Each product is constructed from components that have been knitted to the exact size needed for the pattern, cutting waste fabric out completely from each item produced! This lightweight and practical new range is extremely hardwearing and long lasting.

As members of BAFTS since 2001, here at Earth Squared we are proud to be fair trade accredited and obliged to maintain Fair trade principles for everyone involved in our company. Fair trade is why we started and continues to be at the heart of what we do. Our newly obtained B Corp status also comes with obligations to maintain social equity for our workers and community.

All the fabrics we use are GRS certified, and adhere to the principles set out by the Global Recycled Standards. This certification guarantees recycled textiles with additional environmental and social criteria.

2023 sees the introduction of entirely compostable and degradable packaging for all of our products. We believe this will make a huge difference to our customers - protecting our products with zero end of life problems with the packaging. We are also partnering with Getgreenspark to support various environmental initiatives including tree planting and plastic recycling - and will be updating our online checkout so that customers too can choose to support these projects.

We are working on sustainable fabrics at the moment as well as improvements to packaging and logistics. We have recently completed a course on sustainable fashion at the London College of Fashion so that we can learn and implement new pledges. Look out for recycled fabrics being used in all products in AW23!
