At Annie Oak we are passionate about the environment and the world that we live in. As a brand we have vowed to be vegan friendly, cruelty free and singe use plastic free. By being an ethical and eco-conscious brand, every decision we make has the environment at the forefront of our mind.

Our beautiful pieces are designed in the UK and manufactured in a SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) audited factory to ensure responsible and ethical business practices in our supply chain. Our jewellery is made of recycled silver which is tested for purity and then a small amount of 100% silver is added to ensure the end product is 925 silver quality. We use recycled silver as this reduces the amount of silver that is mined globally and makes our environmental impact smaller without reducing the quality of our jewellery. By using recycled silver we are producing a two thirds less carbon emissions than mined silver and we are helping to reduce the consumption of natural resources. We also use high grade stainless steel as this is an eco friendly material. Both metals are recyclable. Our metals are hypoallergenic so they are suitable for sensitive skin. All of our gold or rose gold jewellery are vermeil plated with 18K gold or 18K rose gold. This means that the layer of gold on top of the base metal sterling silver is at least 2.5 microns thick, a micron is 1/1000th of a millimeter. Normal plating thickness can be between 0.5 - 1 micron. We use high quality vermeil plating to ensure long lasting wear of your precious pieces. We make our packaging so beautiful so you will hopefully love to keep it to store your precious jewellery. Our packaging is 100% recyclable and is made out of FSC certified responsible materials. This ensures that the trees that are harvested are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally so by making the packaging we are not depleting nature. Our ribbon does not contain any silk to ensure our products are vegan friendly. Our jewellery pouch is made from vegan friendly faux suede. Our tissue paper is acid free, recyclable and biodegradable. The perfect eco-friendly touch to the perfect gift. There is nothing better than receiving a pretty box of beautiful things in the post, however we wanted to do this but in an eco-friendly way. Our e-commerce boxes are made from 100% recycled paper. We use grasspaper, a revolutionary new material made from sun dried grass for the wrapping and sticker. A little sprinkle of 100% recycled shredded British paper waste, to pad and secure your items. Your box is then finished with our kraft paper tape, to ensure your products arrive safely. All of the packaging materials that are delivered to the customer are from FSC certified suppliers and are 100% recyclable in your normal recycling bin.

In the next year we are looking to add to our product ranges to include ecofriendly alternatives to beauty products, natural skincare and eco friendly home fragrance collections to bring positive energy and happiness, to lift your everyday lifestyle.

In the Dynami collection all of our necklaces are made from high medical grade stainless steel and are plastic free. The 18ct Rose gold and 18ct Gold pieces are vermeil plated with a thick layer onto the stainless steel to ensure a longer lasting piece. The product is also recyclable. Gift packaging is included and all made from FSC certified paper and are recyclable. The ribbon used is also vegan friendly as it does not contain any silk. We decided to make bamboo gift boxes as it is a very sustainable resource. As a woody tropical grass bamboo grows right back when cut and is known as the fastest growing plant reaching heights of 90cm in 24 hours. This rapid regrowth, which requires zero pesticides or chemicals, and ability to create thick cover means that it absorbs up to 5 times more CO2 than the equivalent mass of forest and produces lots more oxygen. Continuous harvesting of the bamboo actually improves the health of the plant and the roots remain intact to avoid soil erosion. Therefore we are not depleting the earth of its resources and it is promoting healthy soil. We have chosen to use bamboo as part of our environmentally responsible approach to our products, reducing our carbon footprint and ensuring that you can recycle 100% of this box.
